Carriers I’ve Tried
There is an overwhelming amount of different ways to carry your baby these days. This post will share the ones I’ve used and my honest opinion on them.
As far as wraps go, I tried the Nalakai Ring Sling Carrier (made from linen) and the Boba Bliss Hybrid Baby Carrier (made from cotton). I ended up returning both, as the Nalakai Ring Sling Carrier didn’t feel very secure, I think it was mostly in my head, but I just wanted peace of mind with a buckle to fasten it to me. That’s when I ordered the Boba Bliss Hybrid Baby Carrier which I actually used quite a bit, but my baby didn’t like being super snug on me and inward facing (she loves to face outward) so I ended up returning it too.
I finally decided to get a more traditional baby carrier, and so I bought the super basic Chicco Snugsupport (polyester) just to see how my baby liked it. She did like forward facing in it but again was not a fan of the inward facing. The material didn’t feel great, so I ended up returning that, too. But the price is not bad for those who are on a budget!
One of my favorite (and later) splurges was on the Tushbaby Hip Carrier! This is my by far most used baby item out of them all. I wear it sometimes for what feels like the majority of the day. It’s perfect for running errands, like if you have to do a quick stop at CVS and don’t feel like assembling a stroller. This is my baby’s favorite item as well, she loves that it feels like I’m just holding her and she can face forward or towards me. What’s nice is that you can use this as early as the newborn stage, just make sure that their heads are fully supported.
The next carrier I will be trying is the Onbuhimo from Sakura Bloom (in Moss color) and it arrives tomorrow! I’ve had my eye on it for awhile, since I was pregnant actually, so I’m very excited to try it and I’m hoping baby girl likes it and it is comfortable enough for me to wear for a decent amount of time. I will make a post about that soon!
